Flight Instruction

Colorado Backcountry Aviation was born out of the desire to ensure pilots have the training and experience to fly safely and competently both in the mountains and off airport environments. We believe that even the most accomplished pilot can become better and safer by learning how to fly in the everchanging conditions of the Colorado Rockies, or learn to land a Super Cub in the backcountry, or navigate.

At Colorado Backcountry Aviation, we make good pilots better. We focus our instruction on Taildragger Endorsements, Mountain Checkouts, and both beginner and advanced backcountry flight instruction. We also provide training in high density altitude environments in various aircraft, including normally aspirated and turbo charged singles, and multiengine aircraft. Finally, we can attend fly-ins, perform formation flights, and participate in many special events in our in our North American T-28 and and offer warbird flights in our SNJ. We strive to custom tailor a training program or experience to meet your needs and focus on your goals, while at the same time ensuring that all necessary standards are met.
